Our Lady Immaculate Catholic Primary School

Year 3

Year 3 is an important year for the children as they make the transition from KS1 to KS2. We work with the children to build their independence and develop their understanding of following the school's RESPECT keys to success. Children will be supported to develop responsibility for their own learning and establish a positive approach towards learning activities.

Children have access to a wide and varied curriculum whereby they develop skills and understanding about the world around them. The children are encouraged to reflect on their own learning to celebrate areas of strength and identify areas for development.  We create a safe learning environment where children are encouraged to take risks with their learning, and embrace mistakes as an essential part of the learning process.

The children will have the opportunity to go on school trips to further extend their learning. In addition to this, we organise a number of ‘themed days’ around our topics to bring their learning to life.
