Maths

In year 1 we have been learning to tell the time to O'clock and half past on an analogue clock. We played lots of fun games to help us remember that the small hand tells us the hour and the large hand tells us the minutes. We played whats the time Mr Wolf using a large clock.  We went outside and used timers to time lots of activities. We found out that it takes longer to run across the playground than throwing a ball in the air.

We have been learning all about measure. We measured different objects using non standard units of measure. We used cubes, paperclips and dominoes. We used our hands to measure the length of our body and we used wool to also measure the height. We then compared these. We can now use different words to compare lengths and heights such as longer, short, shorter, longer.
