Year 1 have been learning about shapes. We looked at both 2D and 3D shapes. We sorted every day objects and described what shapes they are. We have been using mathematical language to describe shapes and their properties.

We have been learning all about position and the language used to describe the position of an object. We went to the adventure playground and placed the teddy in different positions. We also investigated how many different ways can we position four cubes, we placed the cubes in different position and then asked our partner to draw the cubes.

We have been learning all about numbers. We are starting to count forwards and backwards to 100! We have had lots of fun, finding the missing numbers in a sequence and also on the hundred square. We have been working on number names by matching the numeral to the number word.
